Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Fair Ride is operated by Fair Ride Technologies Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi – 110001, India. The app is a bike-pooling and goods-transport marketplace. We are not a taxi operator and we do not own the vehicles used on the Platform. Contact: privacy@fairride.in · support@fairride.live

2. Information we collect

We collect: • Account details you provide: name, phone number, email, password, profile photo, and bio. • Ride and goods data: pickup and drop locations, dates, times, vehicle details, and listing descriptions. • Usage data: screens opened, searches, bookings, and app diagnostics. • Device data: device model, OS version, and app version. • Location: only when you choose “Use current location”. We do not collect background location. • Photos: only if you grant camera or gallery permission to set a profile picture. • Payments: subscription and fee payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store full card numbers.

3. How we use your data

We use your information to: • Create and manage your account. • Match riders, passengers, and goods transport listings. • Show nearby pickup or drop options when you share location. • Process subscriptions and service fees. • Send ride, booking, and account notifications. • Keep the Platform safe and prevent fraud. • Improve the app. We do not sell your personal data for advertising.

4. Location

Location is used only after you tap “Use current location”, to detect your city and fill pickup details. We do not track you in the background. Precise location is not required to browse the app.

5. Photos and camera

Camera and photo-library access are optional and used only to update your profile picture. Photos are not used for advertising. You can refuse the permission and still use Fair Ride without a photo.

6. Data sharing

We share data only as needed to run the service: • Other users: name, rating, and profile initial on a confirmed booking. Phone number is shared only after booking confirmation so users can coordinate. • Razorpay: payment details required to collect subscription or service fees. • Google Maps: location queries you make for maps and place search. • Law enforcement: if required by applicable Indian law. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account at https://fairride.live/delete-account (no app login required), from Profile → Delete account in the app, or by emailing support@fairride.live from your registered email or phone. We delete or anonymise personal data immediately after you confirm the code, or within 7 business days if we must verify a phone-only account. Payment records we must keep under Indian tax and accounting law may be retained for up to 7 years without your profile attached.

8. Data security and retention

Data in transit is protected with TLS/SSL. Passwords are hashed. Account data is kept while your account is active. If there is a personal-data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours where required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

9. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, or a copy of your data, by emailing support@fairride.live or privacy@fairride.in. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children

Fair Ride is only for users aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that an under-18 account was created, we will delete it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date on this page will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
